Colour is at the heart of what we do. So is our responsibility to make it better.
At Kroma, we continually invest in technologies and processes that reduce our environmental footprint, conserve resources and enable more responsible manufacturing. From water recovery and reuse to efficient production practices, sustainability is built into the way we operate.
Better colour. Better processes. A better future.
Enabled through our patented
MVR wastewater system
Responsible manufacturing begins with how we use and recover our resources.
Our patented Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) system enables Kroma to recover and reuse process water generated during organic pigment manufacturing. By converting wastewater into a closed-loop recovery process, we reduce freshwater consumption, minimize discharge and move towards near-zero liquid discharge.
The system is an important part of Kroma’s ongoing commitment to more responsible manufacturing — combining advanced technology, resource efficiency and environmental responsibility without compromising the quality of our products.
We continuously invest in processes that help us manufacture better, use resources more efficiently and reduce our environmental impact.
Our water-based barrier coatings are completely free of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — a critical requirement for food-contact packaging and increasingly mandated by global regulators. FDA compliant, heat sealable and compostable.
Every KROMATEX™ formulation uses renewable and non-VOC components — significantly reducing volatile organic compound emissions in textile printing and coating operations, protecting both workers and the broader environment.
We meet all current government regulations for air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution across our Vapi and Sarigam facilities. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification covers environmental process controls alongside quality management.
Advancing water recovery and reuse across our operations. Monitoring liquid discharge and continuously exploring opportunities to expand MVR technology across our processes.
Improving process efficiency and working to reduce energy intensity across our manufacturing operations.
Expanding PFAS-free and NON-VOC formulations across our product families, while investing in bio-based alternatives and renewable-component dispersions.
Developing KROMAQUA™ barrier coatings designed to preserve the functionality and compostability of paper substrates — helping customers advance their circular economy goals without compromising packaging performance.
Our sustainability credentials, ISO certification, and quantified environmental data are available for ESG procurement processes and supplier qualification requirements.
